Citigroup Securities & Derivatives Manager in Warsaw, Poland

Custody Transaction Management Department is currently looking to fill a subject matter role in one of its newly formed Direct Custody and Clearing teams that will be tasked with managing and implementing the incoming migrations of new processes. Embarking on this journey, you will run point on accommodating new activities that will be transferred into your team, quickly learning them up to the subject matter expert level, structuring a new and functioning process around them, and ensure their accurate and timely delivery, independently from the sending site.

Citi Custody is responsible for the safekeeping and servicing of equity assets of our clients. Being a custodian bank, we facilitate the settlement process of our client’s securities transactions, manage and process corporate actions as announced by the issuers of these securities, and assist our clients with capital gains tax payment and reclamation. Transaction Management Department is at the forefront of our Custody service, as it ensures that the clients’ settlement instructions are appropriately received and screened against sanctions lists, which in turn allows them to settle in the market that we will promptly reflect on the clients’ accounts. Citi Direct Custody and Clearing owns and manages its own Network and provides asset servicing and transactions function primarily to intermediaries such as Broker Dealers, Banks, and other global investors.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute securities transaction processing related to Securities Clearance Settlement and Derivative Operations

  • Formulate procedures, techniques and contribute to the development of new techniques that increase team productivity, ensuring entire team meets or exceeds performance goals

  • Serve as an analytical and procedural expert, and as first point of escalation for staff members, management and internal/external clients

  • Escalate control gaps and issues to senior management as needed

  • Identify control gaps during settlement cycle and implements appropriate solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses

  • Analyze data to identify control deficiencies and resolve discovered issues through implementing appropriate procedures

  • Act as an advisor to new/junior staff

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in custody, security services, banking, financial services, and/or data maintenance,

  • Good command of English (B2/C1) – the role will involve direct contact with internal and external partners (e.g., custodians, brokers),

  • Previous people management experience,

  • In-depth knowledge of settlement cycle concepts and procedures to resolve settlement issues,

  • Ability to learn new and often complex things quickly,

  • Readiness to work in a high volume, time sensitive environment,

  • Be prepared to work under the hybrid model (3 days from the office per week).
