Amazon Sr Risk Manager, Transportation Risk and Compliance, Japan Transportation Risk & Compliance (TRC) in Sydney, Australia

We are looking for an organized self-starter to join the Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC) team at Amazon. This position will be based out of an Amazon corporate office, and requires the ability to travel periodically.

Amazon has built world-class transportation operations, which rely on an exceptional pool of carrier partners who work relentlessly to meet our customers’ expectations. TRC partners with transportation business to provide them with risk intelligence and compliance monitoring services, fine-tuned at country and transportation program level. With this in mind, TRC is looking for a high-judgment individual to join us as a Sr. Audit & Compliance Manager to assess Amazon carrier partners’ compliance against contractual and legal requirements, and drive a compliance culture both internally and externally.

In this role, you will work closely with Amazon's Last Mile transportation businesses to build strategic initiatives and frameworks that support carrier partners in meeting legal and contractual obligations relating to business practices, driver / provider eligibility, and safety standards. You will be expected to understand laws and regulations applicable to the Last Mile business, assess effectiveness of existing risk and control concepts, and propose innovative mitigation strategies that enable business success. You must clearly and concisely communicate identified findings to senior leadership, and will be responsible for partnering with cross-functional teams to design workflows in support of risk-reduction activities. You will set program objectives, assign appropriate metrics that measure success, and drive business changes that reduce risk. You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, safety, legal, tech, and field operations teams to implement world-class, customer-centric, compliance and risk management solutions.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop Transportation Risk Compliance strategy for Australia and Singapore

• Define, develop, and implement risk programs and drive improvements quantified with metrics.

• Meet individual and team goals with the highest standards and diligence

• Achieve assessment productivity and quality standards

• Lead and/or participate in special projects and/or assignments as necessary

• Ensuring transportation compliance awareness and policy positions of Amazon’s business models internally, within industry associations, and to other relevant stakeholders

• Working collaboratively and transparently with senior business leadership, and the legal and tech teams, to ensure alignment between core business priorities and transportation compliance priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification

  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent

  • Master's degree or equivalent
