Virginia Premier currently uses a mix of technologies. We have websites built in both Drupal and WordPress, and website applications built in AngularJS and in PHP. We are in the beginning stages of a project to replace all websites with a single content management system/experience software.
*Please note: This is a direct permanent position only... No straight contract, no 3rd parties please.
Collaborate with Marketing Design Team in the development and maintenance of websites
Use source control and bug tracking software
Work both independently and with other developers
Write well-documented code
Promote best practices for front-end development
Working closely with internal team to understand and formulate solutions to client needs
Prepare technical documentation
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- BA/BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILLS
Experience with CSS Preprocessors
Experience with RESTful services and APIs
Experience with cross browser development
Experience with content management systems such as WordPress and/or Drupal
Experience with PHP
Experience with responsive web design
Experience with an Experience Platform such as SiteCore is a plus
Experience with 508 compliance is a plus
Experience with automated testing is a plus
Problem solving skills / Troubleshooting
Experience with software development processes and methodology; Agile development is a plus
Deadline focused, detail oriented, well organized and self-motivated
Experience with responsive design is required.
Understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment, is required.
5 years of work experience in IT applications development
3 years of work experience in front end development
3 years of work experience in a CMS (content management system)
- Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
