The SAP Basis DevOps Engineer will join the team responsible for managing and optimizing releases to the SAP landscape. The successful candidate in this exciting and fast paced position will ensure efficient and effective delivery and deployment of SAP solutions leveraging streamlined release processes and tools. This role will manage the software delivery lifecycle process across SAP teams, drives change control stewardship for minor and major releases, and champions continuous delivery and agile release practices to achieve reliable and high-quality software releases of SAP applications to the business.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the delivery of SAP system releases such as minor, major, emergency, and/or standard operational changes across all SAP environment production landscapes

  • Work effectively with SAP DevOps development and testing teams, Technical and Functional agile release trains, and across Digital Platform ERP product teams ensuring SAP solutions are delivered and released to the business at the right time while adhering to quality and proper change controls

  • Ensure effective compliance and process adherence to system change management controls for SOX and IRSM

  • Establish and implement technical standards towards integrated software delivery interoperability following DevOps CI/CD best practices in the SAP landscape

  • Champion the SAP CAB process and orchestrates agile release scheduling of system changes based on risk, business impact and complexity across SAP environments.

  • Establish and maintain SAP change management KPIs to measure software delivery performance in alignment to reliability and quality engineering targets.

  • Shape release automation strategies to evolve SAP DevOps practices towards a predictable, safe and efficient delivery of solutions to end users.

    Desired experience includes, but is not limited to:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA, SAP Basis, SAP Solution Manager, and ChaRM.

  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices.

  • Experience in leading release management teams in support of global ERP deployments

  • Experience working in and leading agile teams.

  • Effective communicator with a record of clear and impactful communication at multiple levels (i.e. from junior engineers to IT leadership)

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Knowledge of change management frameworks
