Salary: $48,375 - $56,327

Position Summary:

The Risk Services Specialist conducts technical work involving the maintenance, monitoring, testing, and repair of IP cameras and access control systems. Additionally, the Risk Services Specialist supports access control maintenance, provisioning, programming, and ID badge production for facility and bus farebox. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation of all work performed under the guidance of experienced team members. Regular updates and reports are communicated to the Manager, Risk Systems and Electronic Surveillance through daily contact and communication.

Performs other duties in alignment with the 2019 - 2024 COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.

This Position is Responsible For:

  • Monitors access control systems to support life and property protection initiatives;

  • Monitors functionality of a multi-property access control and identity management system, and processes requests for identification badges, access permissions, and fare collection cards.

  • Assemble and program new panels and equipment to ensure proper functionality and operation.

  • Utilizes and monitors functionality of a large-scale video surveillance system spanning multiple properties and vehicles.

  • Provides technical support in the performance monitoring, implementation and maintenance of video surveillance system components;

  • Assist in troubleshooting IP camera issues across multiple sites using remote access tools.

  • Performs emergency repairs of critical video surveillance hardware as needed, on facility and bus.

  • Monitors the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) website to conduct quarterly audits of COTA CDL drivers.

  • Updating policies and procedures pertaining to badging, access control, and video surveillance.

  • Works on-call, as needed;

  • Serves on COTA committees and task forces, as appointed by the Manager, Risk Systems and Electronic Surveillance and/or Director, Risk Assessment;

  • May be required to be available through a mobile device via voice and/or data during and outside of normal working hours, at the manager's discretion, and must respond within a reasonable timeframe;

  • Regular, predictable and punctual attendance required; and

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    At Minimum You'll Need:

  • Requires an Associate's degree and four (4) years of experience in the field of law enforcement or conducting criminal and security-related investigations; or (4) years of technical experience with enterprise level access control and electronic surveillance systems.

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with electronics, PCs, networks, communications devices, door & locking hardware, alarm devices, CCTV technology and software with emphasis on card access systems.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
